About Us

Welcome to the Catherine Ulukonanwa Foundation website.

OUR VISION is to continue the legacy of positively impacting lives that was started by the late Mrs. Catherine Ulukonanwa.

OUR MISSION is to empower vulnerable individuals through various empowerment programs, with a focus on helping underprivileged children, individuals, and families in Nigeria by providing necessary support in the form of funds, food, medical, and educational support.

OUR OBJECTIVES include providing scholarships for underprivileged children and exceptional children who have dropped out of school or are at risk of dropping out due to a lack of financial support, assisting widows and widowers with start-up funds to help them start micro-businesses, and carrying out enlightenment campaigns to create awareness on the causes, prevention, and dangers of hypertension and diabetes, as well as providing medical support for individuals with partial paralysis (stroke).

OUR MOTTO is “Lending helping hands,” which reflects our commitment to providing support and assistance to those in need.

Mrs. Catherine Ulukonanwa Ngene was born in 1955 to the family of Mr. & Mrs. Chukwuude Neboh of Umuanebe Ihe town, Agwu LGA of Enugu state Nigeria. Despite facing challenges such as the sudden demise of her father and the Nigerian civil war, she helped her mother take care of her younger siblings and eventually became a successful businesswoman, earning the nickname “Opataakuu” meaning “bringer of wealth” in Igbo language. She used her success to help others, supporting women in her community with small grants to start their own businesses and providing educational and feeding support to families in need. She was also a peacemaker in her community, known for her ability to settle complex conflicts and marital issues.

In 2004, she was diagnosed with partial paralysis (stroke) and type 2 diabetes, but even in her illness, she continued to be a source of inspiration and support. In honor of her excellent works, the Catherine Ulukonanwa Charity Foundation was established to continue her charitable activities. Join us in remembering and honoring the legacy of Mrs. Catherine Ulukonanwa by supporting our mission to empower vulnerable individuals.

As we continue to strive towards our mission and objectives, we will be implementing various programs and initiatives to provide support and assistance to those in need. Some of these programs include:

Educational Support

We will be providing scholarships and educational support to underprivileged children and exceptional children who have dropped out of school or are at risk of dropping out due to a lack of financial support. This will help to ensure that all children have access to the education they need to succeed in life.

Micro-business Support

We will be assisting widows and widowers who are economically vulnerable with start-up funds to help them start micro-businesses. This will help to provide them with a sustainable source of income and enable them to support themselves and their families.

Medical Support

We will be carrying out enlightenment campaigns to create awareness on the causes, prevention, and dangers of hypertension and diabetes, as well as providing medical support for individuals with partial paralysis (stroke). By providing access to medical care and education, we hope to improve the health and well-being of individuals in our community.

Vocational Skills Acquisition

we will be providing vocational training to adults of their choice, to help them acquire skills they need to become self-sufficient.
We invite you to join us in our efforts to empower vulnerable individuals and continue the legacy of Mrs. Catherine Ulukonanwa. You can do this by volunteering your time, making a donation, or spreading the word about our organization and mission. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those in need.

Feeding Support

We will be providing feeding support to families in need to ensure that everyone has access to nutritious food.

Thank you for your interest in the Catherine Ulukonanwa Foundation.
